1994年,民航系统认真贯彻“安全第一、正常飞行、优质服务”的方针,坚持严格管理,开展全行业整顿,进一步深化改革和扩大开放,航空运输持续快速发展,安全情况好转,各项建设取得了较好的成绩。航空运输生产1994年,民航运输生产在前几年持续快速增长的基础上,继续保持较高的增长速度。国内航线运输指标均有大幅度增长,国际航线的旅客运输量增长幅度较大,香港地区航线运输出现负增长。全年全行业主要运输指标完成情况见附表。1994年,民航总局所属航空公司共完成运输总周转量524156万吨公里。

China airline industry continued to grow steadily and rapidly in 1994 . All the industry produced a total tonne-kilometers of 5 . 84 billion , passenger boarding of 40 . 39 million and cargo/ mail traffic of 0 . 83 million tons, increasing 14. 1%, 19. 4% and 19. 5% over 1993 levels respectively . All the transportation figures on domestic routes increased dramatically, passenger boarding on international routes grew significantly and all figures on regional routes showed down more 8% . In 1994, top 10 airlines generated a total tonne-kilometers of more 100 million . They are Air China , China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, China Southwest Airlines, China Northern Airlines, China Northwest Airlines, Xinjiang Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Yunnan Airlines and Shanghai Airlines . Last year all the industry launched 84 scheduled routes with 70 domestic routes and 14 international routes . By the end of 1994 China airline had all type of aircraft of 798 including 406 transports with 33 aircraft net increase .
