A DESCRIPTION OF THE MALE SPIDER OF MONAESES CAUDATUS (ARANEAE:THOMISIDAE)

对蟹蛛科Thomisidae的尾莫蟹蛛Monaeses caudatus雄蛛作了描述。

The present paper describes the male spider of Monaeses caudatus Tang et Song, 1992. Type specimens are deposited in Hangzhou Teacher's College.Monaeses caudatus Tang et Song (Figs. 1-2)This species was nominated by Tang & Song, 1988,but only female spiders were reported. The authors collected 6 females and 4 males from Chunan County and Longyou County ,Zhejiang Province,China,in May, 1992. A description of male is given as follow:(measurements in mm)Males:Total length 4. 68 - 6. 87. Carapace 2. 10×1. 27,abdomen 4. 77×1. 28. Carapace brown with yellow, surf ace coveered with setae, abdomen long and slender, caudal part yerey long extending much past the spinnerets ,with many transverse folds.Palpus with two tibial apophyses:the inside one finger-like,outside one arch-like.Genital bulb very big,nearly round,embolus thin thread-like.
