This paper is conoerned with thin special-shaped checkers(such as chimney block and cruciform block 40mm thick etc)used for glass tank by using high purity magnesite,chrome-magrestte and low porosity firechay materials as body materials,The present paper described the technical fundamental theory,characteristics of the products,physieal and chemical properties,parameters of energy saving and industrial praotice experience eto.This thin special-shaped checker made by superior basic materials keeps its inherent excellent behaviour,and meets the requirement for long-period operation and it is also prooed in both theory and practiee that this series of new products increases specific heat-exchange area renlarkably (40% more than traditional ones),imProves gas-flow distribu-tion so as inhance the efficiency and to save energy. Further more chemney blocks and cruciform blocks are easier to be assembled,and sturdily constructed and then have longer canmpargn.
