A patent method,low temperature pack boronization enhanced by pressure andabsorbing matter,is utilized for surface hardening of a tube of the oil extraction pump onstudying basis of its technical problem , and the processing by this method is investigated. Theresults show that the boronized tube with the suitable core diameter,the circularitv, and surfaceroughness are obtained within the tolerance,while a measurement of the tolerance clearance aftermachine finishing is satisfactory by means of a clearance plunger of lst and 2nd class. In theexaminations of testing ground no pump failed.Their wear resistance is 3-4 times better thanthat of hard Cr plating and carbonitriding.
