The microcomputer hard driver of VG-quattro quadrupole mass spectrometer is modified. The ST506/412 interface of Winchest hard driver is replaced by an IDE interface so that 3. 5 in. 420 MB hard disk can be used. The IDE interface, the disposition of IDE interface adaptor, the reset of hard disk parameters and the logical setup of the new hard disk are described.
