This paper introduces achievements of 'studies on resources andways of development and utilization of woody plant in Gansu provincesection of the Yangtze river valley' from the respect of developing andutilizing woody plant,Woody plants of 107 families 319 genera 1364 specieshas been presented,they are divided into eleven types that is fruit type,resin type, oil type, fibre trpe’medicinal type, starch type, perfume anddrink type,special raw material type,ornamental plant type,forest by-producttype,else type.In this paper,the author has expounded distribution and existingproblems in developing and utilizing of woody plants, especially set forthhow to develop and utilize the resources of woody plants in Gansu provincesection of Yangtze river basin, and has made a suggestion that we shouldproperly devlop and put resources to rational use in the mouistain area ofthe south of Gansu province.
