lightly crosslinked hydrogels prepared from 2-N-pyrrolidonoethyl acrylate(PyEA) and 2-N-pyrrolidonoetbyl metLacrylate(PyEMA) exhibited high equilibrium water content (EWC) up to 80.9gb. The Lydrophilicity of P(PyEA-coHEMA) and P(PyEMA-co-HEMA) was much better than that of PHEMA. The release of 5(6)-carboxyfluorescein which acts as a probe from the kydrogels displayed normal behavior controlled by diffusion and the release rate of 5(6)-carboxyfluore.seem appeared to be those of Fickian release kinetics.
