The paper presents a test performance comparison of a transonic compressor rotor with and without stator installed. the results show that the radial distribution of the pressure in the rotor was varied, because a variation of a flow-path behind the rotor with the stator.Although the law of similitude in rotor inlet with and without stator was complied, but the radial distribution of a static pressure ratio in inlet/outlet of rotor was changed. In the consequence the overall performance and blad-element performance were varied, too. The line of the rotor performance with stator moved right-upward and the efficiency envelope moved upward. Therefore, the rotor performance determined ill the compressor stage test should be regarded as the basis in the evaluation of the rotor performance of axial-flow compressor stage.
