Eastern Asia Regional Economic & Trade Cooperation: Its Current Situation, Pattern and Prospect

60年代以来，东亚地区经济发展迅速，成为世界经济发展最有活力的地区。加强东亚区域的经贸合作是符合世界经济一体化的发展趋势，它有利于加快区域经济的发展。在该地区形成一个以地方政府为主体的次区域经贸合作是完全可能的。中国应积极参与东亚区域的经贸合作，为推进该地区经济的迅速发展和共同繁荣作出贡献。

Rapid development in East Asia since the 1960's makes this area the mostdynamic region in the world. Strenthening the economic and trade cooperation inEast Asia is in line with the developing trend of world economic integration, andit is to the advantage of quickening development pace of regional economies.While it is possible to shape a sub-regional economic and trade cooperation withregional governments as their principal part, this paper suggests that China takean active part in this cooperation and make a great contribution to the economicdevelopment and mutual prosperity in this area
