In order to investigate the effect of PAF on acute hypobaric hypoxia, Taponin,a kind of natural anti-PAF substance, was used as a predicting experiment to ob-serve the protective effect of the anti-PAF substance against the harmful efffects of acute hypobaric hypoxia. The results showed that after gastric irrigation of Taponin 0. 5g/kg for 8 times the harmful effects of acute hypobaric hypoxia on the myocardium, hepatic functions and endothelial cells were not serious. Compared with the control group, there was no significant elevation of the contents of CPK,LDH,a-HBD,AST,ALT,γ-GT and ET(P>0. 05), which revealed that Taponin had a relatively good protective effect on acute hypobaric hypoxia. Taponin is a group of substances with the structures of glucoside and ester extracted from Ginkgo leaves, mainly including Ginkgo flavonal glycosides,Bilobalid and Ginkgolides etc. Taponin has the advantages of a rich resource and little side efffects. It has probably a wide prospect of prevention and treatrnent for the damage caused by acute hypobaric hypoxia.
