摘要
鄂西南位于北纬29°24＇～31°06＇、东经108°30＇～111°36＇，属亚热带向暖温带过渡地带。该区有两栖动物42种（含亚种），隶属于2目10科14属。动物地理区系复杂，含较多的古老物种，与周围各界、区有广泛联系，显示出从北到南、从西到东的过渡特点。
The southwest of Hubei Province lays at latutude 29°41＇~31°06＇N andlongitude 108°3O＇~ 111°36＇E, it is a transitional region from subtropical zone to warm tem-perate zone. The amphibian fauna on the southwest of Hubei Province were studied during 1985~1989. There are 42 species (including subspecies) of amphibia which belong to 15genuses and 10 families．There are some ancient species in the faunal realm and has a wide comection with suvrvunday．This fauna shows alternating transition from north to south and from west to east.
