he history-its past, present and future of the biochemical engineering are described briefly.Themain fields of biochemical engineering, the progress of the biochemical kinetics,the results of recentinvestigation on the performance of biorectors and the importance of down stream process are dis-cussed. The development of the biochemical engineering in the future is also overviewed.
