The properties of mixed monolayers of nitrostilbene and arachidic acid were described.The LB films were prepared on hydrophobic slides. UV-vis. absorption spectra indicated that nitrostilbene molecules forms H-aggregates in Mixed LB films,and it also conformes with there being no molecular ggregation between adjacent layers. The quality of successive monolayers laying vertically was good。pularized-UV obsorbance measurements shown the angle between nitrostilbene chromophores and subetrate varied with the ratio of arachidic acid in mixed LB films.X-ray diffraction pattern suggested that the mixed LB film was regular multilayer with periedic structure.The of electronic diffraction showed the mixed monolayer was a system of monocrystal.
