Acylation of alcohol using polyethylene glycol phase-transfer catalyst has been studied. It hasbeen found that eight esters of carboxylic acids can be obtained in good yields. The reaction of primaryor secondary alcohols with acylations agent is carried out by liquid-liquid PTC and tertiary aicoholswith acetyl chloride is carried out by solid-llquid PTC.
