Abstract This paper introduced the necessity of theprinciple of oil spectrometric analysis technique in failurediagnosis , expounded-the importance of applying this tech-nique to the product's study in advance, development , pro-duction and operation maintenance. The information treat-ment and failure prediction of the result of oil analysis havebeen studied rather deeply. They include the mapping outmethod of four kinds of limit values, prediction of graymedel, fuzzy clustering, differentiation analysis and diag-nosis expert system. They have been all illustrated by ap-plication examples.
