Abstract In this paper,the advantages of closedplanet-harmonic gear reducer are expounded in consid-erable detail.According to the given transmissionratio Ip the tooth number and module of each gear aredetermined and the cyclical power Py can bejudged.Further more,the transmission ratio I of theclosed epicyclic mechanism,torque of eachconstructional part and transmission efficiency are cal-culated by applying a new kind of design method andaset of simtle and easv formulas。
