The design principles and data structure of NC programming moduleof a self-developed CAD/CAM package are outlined It takes the commercial software UNIGRAPHICS II and Euclid-IS as reference and contains the mainfunctions for machining moulds and dies. Machining surfaces are represented inthe form of CURBS trimmed surfaces. The package was developed on Apollo workstation since 1990 and is being transferred to IBM PC/Windows environment.A complete set of casting dies for an automotive diesel engine is beingprogrammed and DOC machined by this package of its alpha-test.
