摘要
CIMS的数据管理需要多媒体和长文本的支持,而长文本和多媒体数据(如图象、声音等非传统数据)因为具有长度可变且存储容量高等特点,给多媒体数据库的存储管理带来一系列矛盾.本文介绍了为适应CIMS需要而研制的多媒体数据库的存储管理方案及其实现技术.方案特点是:以DOS对于磁盘空间管理的操作和方法为基础,所有的多媒体和长文本数据由系统统一管理,把对它们的存取操作直接转换为对磁盘“簇”的访问和DOS环境下FDT、FAT表的维护.与目前其它一些多媒体数据的存储管理方式相比,本方案具有效率高,安全性好等特点.
The data management task for CIMS (Computer Integrated Manufacturing System) requires the support of multimedia and text data. These data, images, voice, and etc. have features of high-data-volume and variable-length, which bring some new issues of research. This paper introduces a storage management method and its implementation in a multimedia database for CIMS to address these issues. The method is based on the disk space management operation of DOS. Accesses to multimedia data are directly mapped into accesses to disk clusters and corresponding maintenance operations of FDT and FAT in DOS. Compared with other methods, it has the advantages of high efficiency and security.
