AbstractWith the discrete maximum principle constructed in this paper,we show the geometric convergence of the parallel Schwarz alternating method for the numerical solutions of second order nonselfadjoint elliptic problems discretized by the piecewise linear nonconforming finite elements. The relation between its contrergence factor and the subdomain division is also given.
