Seeing from the historical process of American urbanization, urbanism .has become a major organizing pattern of regional development and urbanization in America. It is also the “engine” which helps to boost American economy and raise its central competition force. It plays an inspiring role in the choice of the pattern in Chinese urbanization. Although there exists enormous difference between the pattern of urbanization in China and America, metropolization is the inevitable choice that China must adopt. In china, the pattern of urbanization in cities is taking the place of traditional pattern in towns. This trend is where Chinese urbanization should go.
