摘要
本文从三个角度研究外语教学的认知基础:(1)从应用语言学的中介作用、外语教学的组织、学习者的过渡语、语言迁移的角度来说明外语教学是一个过程;(2)从非线性、涌现性和不确定性判断的角度来说明外语教学是一个复杂系统;(3)从交际目的、教学重心向词汇转移和以语言形式为焦点的角度来说明外语教学是一种面向意义的活动。
The paper attempts to study the cognitive underpinnings of foreign language teaching and learning (FTL) from three perspectives: (1) FTL is a process in terms of the mediating function of applied linguistics, the organization of language teaching, the learners' interlanguage, and language transfer;(2) FTL is a complex system in terms of non-linearity, emergence, and uncertainty judgment; (3) FTL is a meaning-oriented activity in terms of communication goal, shift of emphasis to lexis, and focus on form.
