The essay attempts to address a series of issues which are rarely discussed within the study of Mu Shiying： Why are his early works and late ones poles apart？ Why do the characters in his novels have a one - to - one relationship？ Why did he create three different types of female figures？ Why does the style of his works change from masculine to sentimental？
