The essay attempts to address a series of issues which are rarely discussed within the study of Mu Shiying: Why are his early works and late ones poles apart? Why do the characters in his novels have a one - to - one relationship? Why did he create three different types of female figures? Why does the style of his works change from masculine to sentimental?
