试论汉英比喻中的“二柄”与“多边”

The Comparative Study of "Two Handles" and "The Multilateral" in Chinese and English Metaphor

钱钟书先生提出“二柄”及“多边”的比喻概念,汉英语言中的“二柄”及“多边”具有不同的表达方式和喻义,而喻义的需要又最终决定了立喻者对喻体的“柄”的确定及“边”的选择。

On the basis of analyzing the metaphorical concept of “Two Handles” and “The Multilateral” which are put forward by Mr Qian Zhongshu,the essay compares their different structures and ways of expressions both in the English and Chinese language through a flood of examples.
