Reading Problems Arising from College English Curriculum Requirements and the Suggestions Thereof

摘要 大学英语的教学目标正从以阅读为主转向以培养听说为主的综合应用能力,但随着改革的进行,阅读有被边缘化倾向,且存在着词汇能力低、背景知识弱、阅读策略训练不当、教学模式落后输入不足、合适材料有限等老问题;结合课程标准,需采取新的措施加强阅读能力:发挥网络作用加强宏观指导、采纳新的教学模式、重视泛读、恰当选材、促进自主阅读等。 Following the issue of the new College English Curriculum Requirements, there will be a shift of College English objective from reading-ability-first to developing studentsj abilities to use English in an allround way, esp. in listening and speaking. But it does not follow that reading goes second. Rather, it deserves reinforcement due to its importance, its role in enhancing listening and speaking and studentsj inability to read effectively and efficiently. The article, considering the Requirements, based on a comprehensive analysis of critical problems in non-majorsI reading abilities development, advances some countermeasures to the studied problems.
