词汇化程度的英汉对比分析

A Comparative Analysis of Lexicalization in English and Chinese

语义较为复杂的概念如果能用一个词来表示,即称为词化程度高;如果必须用一个短语来表示即称为词化程度低。词化程度高低的四个级别分别是单纯词、派生词、合成词和短语。词化程度高的词汇在这一语言所属的文化中受到的重视高,而词化程度低的词汇在这一语言中受到的重视程度相对就低。词化程度的高低折射着民族的文化。

If a semantically-complicated notion can be expressed by a word, it is said to be of a high degree of lexicalization; instead, if it has to be expressed by a phrase, it is of a low degree of lexicalization. The scale of lexicalization rates as： monomorphemic word, derivative, compound and phrase. In a particular culture, a highlexicalized word receives a high degree of attention and a low-lexicalized word receives less attention. Therefore,different degrees of lexicalization reflect a different culture.
