白先勇认为,“从屈原的《离骚》到杜甫的《秋兴八首》,其中所表现出人世沧桑的一种苍凉感,正是中国文学最高的境界。”本文试从白先勇代表作《台北人》与杜甫《秋兴八首》在思想内容和表现手法上的对照入手,说明杜甫对白先勇小说创作的影响。

In Bai Xianyong＇s opinion, melancholy in mutability of life, presented in the work of Li Sao by Qu Yuan and Qiu Xing- Eight Poems by Du Fu, reached the acme of Chinese literature. On the basis of comparisons on ideas and arts between these two works, this thesis illuminates the impact of Du Fu on novel by Bai Xianyong.
