From Tradition to Modernization: Gradual Progress of Chinese Peasant Political Psychology

新中国成立以前,农民传统政治心理的主要特征是依附、驯服和顺从,并且具有二重性。新中国成立以后,农民现代政治心理不断生成。改革开放以来,农民的现代政治心理进一步发展。在社会转型期的今天,由于历史的惯性,农民政治心理的传统因素仍然存在,我们需要探索促进农民政治心理进一步现代化的有效途径。

Before the foundation of new China, the main character of Chinese peasant political psychology is traditional, -dependent, tame and obedient, and has duality. After the foundation of new China, the Chinese peasantry had been approaching towards modem political psychology. Since reform and opening, the Chinese peasantry has stepped forward from tradition to the modernization gradually. During social transformation in current China, the political psychology of the Chinese peasantry still interweaves traditional flavor and modem one for the sake of historic inertia. So there is need for us to explore the effective way to further peasant modernized political psychology.
