Objective To investigate the relationship between average 24-hour ambulatory pulse pressure and target organ damage in hypertension patients. Methods Two hundred forty-six patients with hypertension were enrolled into the following two groups by the mean values of average 24-hour ambulatory pulse pressure(ABPP).≥60 mmHg(n= 112) and ABPP〈60 mmHg(n= 134). The data of Echocardiography, Electrocardiogram, Scr and cerebral CT were compared. Results In the group with ABPP≥60 mmHg the EF and E/A were significantly decreased, AO ,LVEDd , IVSD,LVPWd and LVMI were increased, while electrocardiogram abnormality, renal function damage and cerebral function damage were increased compared with ABPP〈60 mmHg. Conclusion Active control pulse pressure is effective to abate target organ damage in the treatment hypertension.
