摘要 艾伦·泰特教授(Alan Tait),是国际开放和远程教育领域最知名的研究学生学习支持的专家之一。现任英国开放大学教育及语言学院院长,欧洲远程和网络化学习联盟(简称为EDEN,全称为European Distance and E-Learning Network.网址:ht-tp://www.eden-online.org)的副主席,《欧洲开放,远程和网络化学习杂志》(全称Euro-pean Journal of Open,Distance and E-Learning,网址:http://www.eurodl.org)的主编。艾伦·泰特教授从1974年起就一直供职于英国开放大学,曾分别服务于英国开放大学的总部和地区中心,1989-1998期间曾任《开放学习》(Open Learning)杂志的编辑,他所提出的关于学生学习支持的理念和模式被很多研究者所引用,并被诸多的实践者所运用,其研究兴趣主要有学生支持/学习者支持、学习中心的组织、学生指导与咨询,以及辅导教师的管理和培训。 Prof. Alan Tait is one of the most famous experts in the field of international open and distance education, who study learner support. He is currently Dean of Faculty of Education and Language Studies of The Open University, and is Vice President of the European Distance and E-Learning Network ( EDEN, http:// www. eden-online. org ). He is also presently Editor of the European Journal of Open, Distance and E-Learning ( http ://www.eurodl. org ). Since 1974 he has worked for Open University. From 1988-1998 he edited the journal of Open Learning. His research interests include student support/learner support, the organization of learning centres, tutoring and consulting, and the management and training of tutors. His ideas and models about learner support are cited by many researchers and used by many practitioners.
