英汉否定的语义表征及语用情景对比分析

A Contrastive Study of Semantic Representation and Pragmatic Situation of Negation in English and Chinese

否定是最常见的语言现象之一。在跨文化交际过程中,对目的语中的否定表达的理解与运用不当常常造成交际失误或中断。英汉两种语言中的否定存在着很大差异。通过对英汉否定语表征及语用情景进行对比分析,以期将英汉否定的对比研究推向深入,并对外语教学起指导及参考作用,促进不同语言文化背景下的人们的相互交流。

Negation is important as well as frequent in everyday social interactions all over the world. Crosscultural communication may break down due to the speaker＇s misunderstanding and inappropriate application of negation in the target language. Negation in Chinese is quite different from that in English. This paper makes a contrastive study of the semantic representation and pragmatic situation of negation in English and Chinese, the purpose of which is to further the study of negation in English and Chinese to improve the foreign language teaching and the cross-cultural communication.
