秦将军李信考论

从李信家世源流来看,自李同以降,李信祖先渐以将略持家。李信乃陇西李氏杰出人物。今所能考见之李信事迹,均在始皇十七年(前230年)至始皇二十六年(前221年)的十年统一战争期间。李信在秦统一战争中,破赵,逐得燕太子丹、攻楚、破定燕、代、齐地,骁勇善战,功勋显赫,是秦始皇扫平群雄、统一天下过程中颇为倚重的一员大将。但是,由于伐楚之战在军事史上的经典意义,李信在伐楚中的失败又与秦最为卓越的老将王翦的胜利呈鲜明对比,所以李信在后世论者眼里和笔下,地位并不高。李信伐楚失败的事例成为经常的反面谈资,一代战将的英名竟为此役之败而掩损殆尽。
