In the early days of New China the Central Financial and Economic Commission led by CHEN Yun planned and held a series of conferences on specialized trades, which was a major event in the financial and economic field at that time. These conferences discussed the overall arrangement of economic work, decided on the blueprints of economic restoration and development and worked the principles and policies set out in the Common Program into specific measures and plans.
