Creator is a software package that produces realistic three-dimensional models and complex terrain for use in realtime applications, Its file format （. fit） has become the most popular one and the industrv standard in the simulation-modeling field. This paper introduces the usage and functions of Creator. First of all, the hierarchy of its database and its node types are analyzed. Secondly, the main functions of its toolboxes are summed up. The functions and features of its Road Tool and Terrain Tool are expatiated later. Then the Light Sources and Database Shading,Levels of Details and Make Things Move are analyzed. In the discussion the keys to which attention should be paid during the modeling are mentioned. At last a finished simulation model is given to explain the application of Creator and the virtual simulation method for combining Creator with other software is discussed.
