Library and Poverty Alleviation via Information Service

无论从我国扶贫开发的现状还是图书馆的职责来说,信息扶贫都是必要的。图书馆在信息扶贫方面具有政策优势、资源优势、人才优势和技术优势,应当在信息扶贫中有所作为:一是搞好自身建设;二是加强贫困地区图书馆建设;三是发挥图书馆作用,促进农村精神文明建设;四是实现数字化文献资源共建共享;五是加强与国际社会的合作。

Information plays an important role in poverty alleviation. In poverty alleviation, library has its own advantages in the respects of policy, resources, personnel and technology. It should play an active role in poverty alleviation, for example,① put efforts in its own construction; ② provide support for libraries in poor areas; ③play its rule in the construction of rural civilization; ④ build up digitalized information resources and share them with each other; ⑤ strengthen cooperation with the outside world.
