Laoshe is an outstanding master of language. He turns the extract of the Beijing dialect into his distinctive literary language, which not only conforms to the grammar of the standard Chinese language, but is also full of Beijing cultural flavour; and his style has fascinated the readers of the whole country. The present article makes an attempt to explicate how he crystallized the Beijing dialect into a literary language.
