First private petroleum group established in China

中国内地首家大型民营石油企业集团——长联石油的诞生,改变了中国大型石油公司单一国有体制的格局,标志着中国民营石油产业进入了新的发展阶段,在中国石油产业发展史上具有里程碑的意义。但长联石油的前景并不十分明朗。

The establishment of China's first privately owned petroleum group, the Great United Petroleum Holding Co., Ltd. (GUPC), was announced in Beijing on June 29th at the Great Hall of the People. As the first private petroleum group, it marks a breakthrough for China's oil industry long monopolized by the state-owned economy and signals a new stage in the process of China's private oil industry. However, The whole future of GUPC is still uncertain.
