马丁.路德.金(Martin Luther King Jr.)纪念园是美国国家林荫绿地内的在建纪念物。介绍了该纪念物的设计竞赛过程和获选作品ROWA设计组方案的构思及特点,结合美国国家林荫绿地纪念景观风格和纪念景观设计风尚之流变等设计背景,从延续文脉、时间和空间的融合、材料人文含义的运用和塑造场所精神4个方面分析方案设计手法,并进一步归纳美国现代纪念园的设计特点,讨论对我国纪念园设计的启发意义,探索我国现代园林设计借鉴世界先进文化的道路。

To commemorate Martin Luther King Jr., the famous civil rights leader, the AmericanCongress to set up a memorial in the National Mall. The process of the design competition and the chosen design scheme made by ROMA and its designing process are introduced. Based on the change of American memorial landscape style and the landscape style of the National Mall, the paper goes on with an analysis of the designing method of the scheme from four perspectives, i.e. the continuance of context, the combination of time and space,application of the material＇s humanistic meaning, and spirit of place. Furthermore, it sums up characteristics of modern American memorial design, discusses the significance in enlightening Chinese memorial landscape design,and explores the way of how to learn from the advanced culture of the world to form our national style in the new era.
