本文从存在于人类大脑中的精神现象———意象的考察开始,分析了近现代诸多关于技术的观念,从而认为媒介符号系统是意象的技术显现,而在形态各异的技术显现活动中,影像技术表征着人类整体化生命意象的显现。影像技术由于其能够吸纳每一个时代的重要技术而成为各种技术系统的神经中枢,从而不断地推进着人类历史上最为重要的科学技术活动:复制、延续与创造生命。

This thesis starts from the spiritual phenomenon, that is imagery, analyses kinds of concepts of technology from modern times. Then comes to a conclusion that the system of symbol is a technological manifestation of imagery, and the technology of image manifests the imagery of human integration. The technology of image is capable of absorbing important technologies of every age, so that it becomes the nerve centre of kinds of technology systems, and promotes the activity of copying life, and even creating life.
