中国大学生英文写作中的复现组合 被引量:17

摘要 本研究运用中介语对比分析的方法,考察了中国非英语专业大学生作文中复现组合的特点及其与英语水平间的关系。所用语料来自CLEC和LOCNESS。研究结果表明,与本族语者作文相比,我国学生作文中的复现组合较多,该差异在较长的组合和高频复现组合中尤为明显。我国学生使用过度的组合在结构上多为口语语体中常见的一些句干类组合,从语义-功能角度讲多起保持互动、突出集体身份、表态、强调、衔接篇章等作用,使用不足的组合多为书面语中常见的结构,起突出个人身份、具化表达等作用。随着英语水平的提高,我国学生作文中的复现组合在数量、使用频率、长度上都有所下降,但在使用过度和使用不足的复现组合类型上无显著变化。 The present study investigates features of recurrent word combinations (RWC) in English essays of Chinese college students and the relationship between the use of RWC and L2 development. The essays analyzed were taken from CLEC (Chinese Learner English Corpus) and LOCNESS (Louvain Corpus of Native English Essays). The analyses yielded 4 major findings: First, there are significantly more RWCs in Chinese students' essays than in English native speakers' essays and the difference is more significant with longer and highly recurrent word combinations. Second, Chinese students overuse some RWC structures typical of oral English or conforming to Chinese sentence patterns but underuse typical written language RWC structures. Third, Chinese students overuse some word combinations in order to maintain interaction such as indicating collective identity, making resolutions, showing emphasis and connecting discourses but underuse intra-sentential connections such as deemphasizing/specifying word combinations. Fourth, as Chinese students' L2 develops, the quantity, length and frequency of RWCs in essays all decrease, yet there is no significant change in the structural and semantic-functional types of both overused and underused RWCs.
