The reasons why, for a long period, the inverted house-top has not been spread far and wide, are discussed in this paper. Compared with the traditional cold-protecting house-top, the advantages of the inverted house-top are introduced here. Meanwhile, the technical requirements in designing, the commonly-used methods and the key problems in designing and construction are presented and stated. For the time being, the advantages of the inverted house-top have been being recognized increasingly. The development of techniques in architecture has made the inverted house-top possible. This method is energy-preserving and is worth spreading in architecture.
