论述科技信息研究对学术期刊编辑的重要性。首先阐明学术期刊编辑的最根本任务是编发有学术质量特别是反映新成果、新技术的论文，然后指出科技信息研究与应用融合于学术期刊编辑的组稿、审稿和改稿过程之中，接着介绍收集科技信息的主要途径。最后提出：学术期刊编辑收集研究科技信息，并应用于编辑实践之中，这是创造性的、深层次的知识劳动；学术期刊编辑及其归属的科技期刊编辑是一门独立的专业，前者是后者的一个分支。

The importance of the research on science-technology information for the editing of academic periodical is discussed. It is indicated first that the basic task of academic periodical editing is to edit and publish papers having academic values, especially the papers reflecting new achievements and new techniques. Then, the author points out that the research and application of science-technology information should be merged in the process of commissioning authors to write, examining and correcting manuscripts. The main approaches of collecting information are introduced. Finally, it is put forward that editing, collecting and researching science-technology information as well as applying in the practice of editing is a creative intellectual labour of high level. The editing of science-technology periodical and its branch, the editing of academic periodical, is an independent speciality.
