She was the first lolk artist who depicted herself and came to realize the truth of self-appreciation while creating works of art. Artistic creation helped to focus her mind on natural instincts and individual character. She rose above the harsh realities of a rural peasant＇s life through artistic expression which sought higher ideals and aesthestism and an independent, unrestrained spiritual dimension.
