修辞观照下数字的英汉互译

Translation of Figures Used in Figurative Way

数字除了计数的基本功能外,还常用于修辞手段,出现在谚语或习惯用语中。在汉语中是这样,在英语中也是这样。但由于英汉语属于不同的语言范畴,两种语言中数字的修辞用法不尽相同,翻译时可以采用保留数字、颠倒数字、转换数字、增舍数字等几种方法,使其符合目的语的语言习惯。

Besides their basic functions, figures frequently convey figurative meanings, espeeially used in idiomatic expressions, which exists both in English and Chinese. However English and Chinese belong to different languages, the figurative expressions of figures are not always equivalent to each other. This paper covers several ways for the inter- translation of English＆Chinese.
