摘要
Mass media plays an important role in American political life,and influences various aspects of civil political activities.From the perspective of the effect of mass communication,the paper,through the case study of the general election in1992,probes into the ways the mass media influences the presidential election and argues that mass media,which exerts a great influence on the drop scene of the presidential election by their vast coverage and positive effects,not only works as an image-builder and process-reporter but also functions as a poll-maker.
