Empathy Ability and the Study of Intercultural Communication

有效的交际指听话人在任何情节内都能够理解说话人意图的交际。移情是指尽量设身处地地站在别人的立场去思想、去体验、去表达感情,移情能力是Ruben有效交际七要素的核心,是实现有效跨文化交际的保证。文化教学的研究与开展使外语学习者具备了良好的跨文化交际意识,是交际双方在交际过程中实现移情的物质基础。

Effective communication means that the hearer is able to understand the speaker＇s intention in any situation. As the core of Ruben＇s theory of the seven primary elements of communication, empathy enables a person to think, experience and express what he feels on the other＇s side, which assures the realization of effective intercultural communication. Studies on culture teaching and its enforcement have equipped language learners with the awareness of the intercultural communication, which is the foundation for both sides to realize empathy in the process of communication.
