Academy movement and the development of pansophia education in modern England

近代英国民间的非国教学院与私立学院教育中,存在着实用职业教育传统。阿卡德米学院运动就是这一传统的凸显,并最终发展成新大学运动,对古典绅士教育传统进行了必要修正。绅士教育与职业教育短长互补,文理并重,传统与现实兼顾,是为泛智教育的发展。

There was practical vocational education tradition in nonconformist academy and private academy in modern England. The academy movement was the representative of this tradition. It proceeded to the new university movement and modified the classical gentle education. These surveys have led the author to the conclusion that gentle education and vocational education had their own features and attached importance to arts and science, tradition and reality. Thus, it is called the development of the pansophia education.
