Cephonodes hylas and Homorta magrtanima are two major pests of Gardenia jasminonides. C. hylas occurs 5 generations per year and overwinters in pupal stage in Xiaogan City, Hubei Province. H. magrtanima occurred 4 generations per year and overwinters in larval stage. The life history, living habits and control methods of two pests are introduced.
