he Expectation Of Life Without Disability(ELWD)has been widely used in publichealth and geriatric research in western countries.Unfortunately,there have been a numberof mistakes in calculation of the ELWD in the published papers.The concept and principalof the ELWD were reviewed.Some corrected formulae used in calculating the ELWD weregiven in the paper.The application of the ELWD in medical studies was discussed.
