This paper concludes that slow rate sand filtration is one of the simplest,most effective,cheepest and safest water supply processes ever used in rural area through theanalyses of the scale of rural water works,the raw water quality and the features of slow filter.In addition,the author has stated the basic theorv of slow filter,and approached themethods of designing,operating and maintaining a slow filter.
