创业、改造上海凹凸彩印厂创建于1934年。1956年公私合营时,汇聚了全市凹凸彩印的精干力量。当时职工人数不足二百,设备简陋,生产方式以手工操作为主,年产值仅180万元,但却首创了自动化圆盘机和电化铝烫印机。1959～1961年被评为全国红旗单位。1965年,弄堂小厂上海凹凸彩印厂迁到顺昌路330号(原天厨味精厂厂址)。

Founded in 1934, the Shanghai Embossing Colour Print Factory is one of core enterprises in China 's package printing sector. The factory has come to advanced world standards in terms of package printing technology. Having topped 10 million yuan in profits and taxes in 1982, the factory has been increasing its production and earnings year after year. With more than 700 employees and fixed assets worth 26.61 million yuan, the factory owns over 120 sets of printing equipment which register up 85 per cent of the level of mechanization and automation. In 1988, it fulfiled 25.407 million yuan in gross value of industrial output, with 1.07 billion prints and 12.60 million yuan in profits and taxes.
